Separate a local network problem from a VPN route problem by changing one connection variable at a time.

  4. 4On mobile, compare trusted Wi-Fi with mobile data only where your data plan allows it
  5. 5Keep the device, VPN location, and test destination unchanged while comparing networks
  • A large improvement on wired Ethernet points to Wi-Fi quality or interference
  • Poor results with and without the VPN point to the base network or device
  • Poor results only on one VPN location point to distance, load, or route quality
  • A mobile network can change address and routing frequently, so repeat unexpected results
