VPN blocked by firewall — bypass with Stealth Mode

3 min read·Updated April 20, 2026

Configure HorizonVPN to work through strict firewalls using obfuscation.

Some networks — corporate offices, schools, hotels, and restrictive countries — actively block VPN traffic using deep packet inspection (DPI). HorizonVPN's Stealth Mode disguises VPN traffic as regular HTTPS.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Advanced → Obfuscation
  2. 2Enable Stealth Mode
  3. 3Select OpenVPN TCP as your protocol
  4. 4Set the port to 443 (the standard HTTPS port — almost never blocked)
  5. 5Reconnect — your VPN traffic now appears as normal web traffic

Stealth Mode is available on Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux. Not currently available on iOS.
