Every Horizon plan hides the address your internet provider gave you. What differs between the two options is the address you get back. A dynamic IP comes from a pool that many people share and it changes as you reconnect. A dedicated IP is one address bound to your account, and nobody else is placed on it.

Two ways to leave the tunnel
The tunnel between your device and our server is identical in both cases. The difference starts at the far end, where your traffic steps back onto the open internet and picks up an address.
Dynamic IP, the default on every plan
When the app connects, the server hands you one of the public addresses it owns. Reconnect, switch country, or move from Wi-Fi to mobile data, and you will usually come back with a different one. Many other Horizon users are on that same address at the same moment, so a website reading the address cannot tell your requests apart from theirs.

Dedicated IP, reserved for one account
A dedicated address is taken out of the shared pool and bound to a single account. It answers when you connect today, and it answers the same way next month. Because no one else is routed through it, its reputation is built only from what you do, which is exactly what a bank, a company firewall or a strict login check wants to see.

Which one do you need
Most people never need a dedicated address. It is worth paying for when something specific keeps breaking, and the list below is that something.
Choose a dedicated IP if
- Your bank ends the session, asks for a new code, or refuses a transfer whenever the address moves.
- A company VPN, an admin panel, a staging server or a database is behind an allow list of addresses.
- An account locks itself when it sees sign-ins from a new country every few days.
- You get a puzzle on every search, every checkout and every form you submit.
- You reach a machine at home or at the office and want one address you can safely allow.
Stay on a dynamic IP if
- You want the strongest anonymity a VPN can give you.
- You would rather your traffic be mixed with the traffic of many other people.
- You move between countries and want a local address in each one.
- You have no reason for a site to recognise you again tomorrow.
- Nothing is currently breaking, which is true for most people.
What people use a dedicated IP for
These are the four reasons customers actually ask us for one. If none of them describe your week, the dynamic address you already have is the better choice.
Banking and payments
Banks score the address you sign in from. When last night's sign-in came from Singapore and this morning's came from somewhere else, the safest thing they can do is stop you: a new verification code, a locked session, a refused transfer. A dedicated Singapore address keeps every sign-in coming from the same place, and you never have to turn the VPN off to get in.
Work tools and remote access
Company VPNs, admin dashboards, staging environments and managed databases are usually reachable only from a short list of allowed addresses. An address that changes every few hours can never be on such a list. A dedicated one is added once by whoever runs the firewall, and it keeps working from wherever you are.
Accounts that dislike movement
Streaming subscriptions, IPTV portals, marketplaces and ad platforms all watch for accounts that look shared or resold. Connecting from the same address every evening looks like an ordinary household. Connecting from four countries in a week looks like something they are built to block.
Fewer CAPTCHAs and refused forms
A shared address carries the reputation of everyone behind it. One person scraping a site is enough for the rest of you to get a puzzle on every search. On a dedicated address the only behaviour attached to it is yours, so most of those challenges simply stop appearing.
The honest trade-off
A dedicated address is easier to live with and, on one measure, easier to follow. On a shared address your requests sit inside a crowd, and that crowd is part of the protection. On a dedicated address every request from it is yours, so a site that already knows who you are can join your visits together over time. That is the whole cost, and it is worth stating plainly rather than selling around.

How to get a dedicated IP
The address is assigned by hand so that it really is yours and stays empty of other users. That is why it is a short conversation and not a checkbox at checkout.
Choose any plan
Every Horizon plan already includes the dynamic IP, the apps for all your devices and everything else in the product. Nothing about your plan has to change to add a dedicated address later.
Tell us the country and the reason
Write to support with the location you need and with what keeps breaking. The reason matters: some problems are solved by a different server or a different protocol, and we would rather tell you that than sell you an address you do not need.
We reserve the address
We take a public address on a Horizon node in that country, a Singapore node for a Singapore address, bind it to your account and keep every other user off it. You get the address itself and a connection profile in the app that uses it.
Connect the way you always do
Open the app and pick the location. The same address answers every time, on every device signed in to your account, and every other Horizon server stays available whenever you would rather be one of many.
Not sure which one you need
Tell us what stops working: the bank that logs you out, the panel that refuses you, the puzzle on every search. We will say whether a dedicated address fixes it, and when your dynamic address is already enough we will say that instead.

What is a dedicated IP address on a VPN?
It is a single public address on a VPN server that is reserved for one account. No other customer is routed through it, so it always points back to your connection and it does not change under you between sessions.
What is the difference between a dedicated IP and a static IP?
In everyday use the two words describe the same address. Dedicated says who else is on it, which is nobody. Static says how it behaves, which is that it does not change. A Horizon dedicated address is both: reserved for your account and the same on every connection.
Is a dedicated IP less private than a shared one?
In one respect, yes. On a shared address your traffic is mixed with that of many other people, and that crowd makes it harder to single you out. On a dedicated address everything coming from it is yours, so a site that already knows who you are can link your visits over time. Everything else is unchanged: your real address stays hidden, the tunnel is encrypted the same way, and we keep no record of where you go.
Is a dedicated IP included in my plan?
Every plan includes the dynamic IP. A dedicated address is reserved for a single account on a node we choose together with you, so it is arranged through support rather than added at checkout. Ask us which countries are available and what it costs for the one you need.
Will a dedicated IP stop CAPTCHAs?
It removes the most common cause, which is the behaviour of other people sharing your address. It cannot help when a site challenges every visitor it does not recognise, or when the check is aimed at your browser and its fingerprint rather than at your address.
Can I use a dedicated IP on all my devices?
Yes. The address belongs to the account rather than to one device, so every device signed in to your account can use the profile that carries it. The device limit of your plan is the only limit that applies.
Can I still use the normal servers afterwards?
Yes. The dedicated address appears as one more location in the app. Pick it when you need the address to stay the same, and pick any other Horizon server when you would rather be one of many on a shared address.
Does a dedicated IP make my connection faster?
Speed comes from the route and the load on the server, not from who owns the address. What a dedicated address removes is the friction: fewer verification steps, fewer blocked logins and fewer puzzles, which usually feels faster even though the link itself is the same.
