These settings provide the best balance of security, speed, and usability for new HorizonVPN users.

Security settings

  • Kill Switch: On
  • DNS Leak Protection: On (default)
  • IPv6 Leak Protection: On
  • WebRTC Leak Protection: On
  • Auto-connect on startup: On

Protocol

  • Protocol: Auto — lets HorizonVPN choose the best option for your network
  • Everyday networks: use UDP for low latency when you need to test manually
  • Restrictive networks: try Stealth, TCP, HTTP, HTTP Max, or TLS

Server selection

  • General browsing: Quick Connect (automatically picks fastest nearby server)
  • Streaming: servers marked with the 🎬 streaming badge in your target country
  • P2P/Torrenting: servers marked with the P2P icon

Reset all settings to defaults at any time via Settings → Advanced → Reset to Defaults.
